While I watched Flight of the Conchords on and off, I only really became aware of Rhys Darby through Our Flag Means Death. I then watched a few of his YouTube videos and fell in love with his brand of weird comedy (I grew up with Monty Python – weird is my wheelhouse).
Rhys is a powerhouse. He barely stopped moving and his comedy is as slick as oil. He told several stories, none of which seemed related, then folded them all in together at the end. The fact I could see it coming just made it funnier.
